The winner is Jonathan. His jokes are always funny and he never fails to put a smile on his teammates faces.
FENCERS' FENCER AWARD
The best fencer according to the other fencers
The winner is Henry. His passion and achievements are of inspiration for the whole club.
MOST MEMORABLE BOUT
For the fencer who fought the best match in the entire season
The winner is Romilly. During the Southern Fencing Team Championship her team was losing by 3 points. She not only managed to score those points, but went on and won the bout giving the chance to her team to win the overall match.
BEST HIT
For the fencer who scored the most spectacular hit
The winner is Bence. His foot hit is famous already and no one is safe from it.
BEST IMPROVEMENT
For fencers who improved the most during the whole season
Best improvement during competitions: Tristan. He went from no competitions at all and training once a week to multiple competitions a year and two training sessions a week.
Best improvement during training: Muaadh. Even though he had just started fencing, he wanted to do more and joined a bigger and tougher class.
Best improvement for a beginner: Tré. Despite training just once a week, he has already won the Southern Fencing Team Championship. During the whole competition he greatly helped his team showing he really understood what the coaches were telling him.
TOP RANKING
For all fencers who are in the top 8 of the English and British ranking
The winner are Henry and Ella. When the pandemic started, Henry was 6th and Ella 8th in the U14 England ranking.
THE TACTICAL FENCER
For the fencer who made a great use of tactic during a bout
The winner is Zalan. He fenced a though match against an epeeist who had already knocked out another Luso fencer. Zalan went on the piste with a clear strategy in mind that involved the use of passivity and managed to bring home a brilliant victory.
EPIPHANY AWARD
For the fencer who had a great revelation
The winner is Sofia. After her coaches told her she can be a great fencer with just few changes to her style, she finally discovered her potential and changed the way she fences.
THE MOST STUPID REFEREE DECISION
For the fencer victim of a bad referee decision
The winner is Jonathan. After scoring a great hit against his opponent, he saw the very same hit denied by the referee because his opponent "lost his focus during the match".
TOP INTERNATIONAL FENCER
For the fencer who reached the highest International level
The winner is Chris. For the second year in a row he has been selected for the England Team and went on to represent the country to an International competition of the European Cadet Circuit in Finland.
THE CORONAVIRUS AWARD
For the fencer who trains hard even outside the club
The winner is Luca. During the lockdown Luca has not stopped training. Cycling and fencing kept this young fencer always in shape and ready to action.
